Monsanto Myths and Misrepresentation

A text called Myths and Facts about HR 875 has been going around the web.  Although unsigned it originates with  the bill’s sponsor, Ms. DeLauro, wife of a man on the Monsanto payroll http://delauro.house.gov/files/HR875_Myths_Facts1.pdf

I’m  not good at tracking progress of legislation. If things are steamrollered, they can get through the final steps very fast–reported by committee, voted by House and Senate and signed. People who do track these things appear to believe it is moving very fast. But even if it isn’t, it couldn’t hurt to get ahead of the curve.

Monsanto Poised to Take Total Control of World Food Supply

There is very little time to stop the “Food Safety” Modernization Act of 2009 ( bill HR 875 ).

There is a steamroller operation going trying to get it through Congress by mid-April.

It’s passage would be catastrophic,  It gives Monsanto the right to regulate all agriculture in the United States.  It would outlaw organic agriculture even for people growing food in their own back yards. The sponsor of the bill is Rosa DeLauro Democrat from Connecticut who is married to a man on the Monsanto payroll.

Like the Homeland Security Act, this legislation will be voted on without being read unless the public puts heavy pressure on their representatives.

Tell everyone you know about this threat.  And, oh yes, contact your members of Congress.
